About the Author
The Rev. Father Emile Neubert, S.M., was an author, priest and avid Marianist. He was born in 1878 at Ribeauville, France, and pronounced his first vows at Courtefontaine. He later served as rector of the Marianist seminary of Fribourg, Switzerland, a position he held for twenty-seven years. For Father Neubert, devotion to the Blessed Mother meant winning souls for Christ, and winning souls meant promoting devotion to her. He was a witty man with a fine sense of humor, and unwavering in his strong devotion to Mary. His My Ideal Jesus: Son of Mary was originally published in 1947, and has since been retypeset by TAN. Father Neubert died in 1967 at Art-sur-Meurthe, France.

St. Kolbe's favorite mariologist was this book's author (they corresponded with eachother) and said that anyone preparing to consecrate themselves to Our Lady should have this book for regulat meditation. I have read it twice and I know I will be rereading it for the rest of my life. It had profoundly impacted me. A classic on Marian devotion.

I got this book for my 2 year old son because he always "read" it at daycare and talked about it every night! I ordered it for him and he was so excited when I showed him his very own copy. By the second night, he had memorized it and it was adorable to hear him say the story aloud by himself. If you have a little one, this book is perfect right before the Halloween season!

User-friendly classical music

Well-written, clearly well-researched, and not intimidating in style. I think anyone who wants to know more about classical music, but wasn't a music major, would enjoy reading it. It's more history and personality than music theory. I especially like that it's structured as a couple hundred shortish articles, mostly a couple of pages long. It's ideal for reading in short bursts, over a lunch break or while on the subway.

Mostly 20th century drivel

I listen to a lot of classical music, but have never really learned any music theory, and I can't play an instrument. I had hoped this book would develop music theory for beginners by going through elements introduced by various great composers. In fact, it uses music jargon without explanation, and is mostly a collection of anecdotes about which composers died of syphilis. Actually, that isn't too many, because the vast majority of "composers" mentioned are trivial 20th century figures -- probably professor friends of the professor author. I would much rather learn a lot about real composers than learn a tiny amount about many hundreds of current composers whose works I will never hear (probably because they are lousy, so nobody ever plays them).

As an example, very early in the book the author mentions very matter of factly that some symphony by Beethoven was written in a particular key. Okay, what does that mean? I've heard that "minor" keys often correspond to sadder music? Why? Whey did Ludwig choose that key for this symphony? The author assumes you already know this.

I am still searching for a book that develops rudimentary knowledge of music theory for beginners by going through the music of the greats. Any yes, I don't mind if they tell me the syphilis anecdotes along the way as long as I learn something.

I had the distinct pleasure of working side-by-side with Professor Schwarm at one of America's great commercial Classical radio stations, KVOD, and found her to be an incredible resource as I strived to better myself as a Classical announcer. If you are just beginning to learn about this musical art form, or if you just want to brush up on your current knowledge, this book is a "must have."

sexy shifter series!

This was a shorter read in the series. A really good story about two opposites attracting. Predator and Prey make a love match!

Venny is a great character, independent and strong. It is too bad she does not see her own uniqueness as a plus. But it is easy to think you are wrong when that is all you ever here.

Athon started out as a bit of a jerk but then you find that is just his gruff exterior. He ends up being deliciously Alpha and uber supportive!

Another great tall about the Crossroad and I can not wait to see more of the residents stories!

A little light on the steam. The sex scene was totally hot and heavy but there could have been more. We sort of skimmed the whole in heat phase!

Love that the author gives you a tidbit about who's story is next! It makes you eager to jump into the next book!

I loved this story

This is the tale of Venny (an albino reindeer) who finds the man she was promised to as a mate with her cousin. She travels to the crossroads where she meets Athon (a lone wolf). From the moment they meet the sparks fly. Venny is in heat and needs to mate and Athos is determined that he be the only candidate.

I loved this story, all was not smooth sailing between venny and athon, which is often how it works. But these two lonely people finally found love and acceptance within each others arms.

Outstanding series

This is the fourth book I've read in this series and I'm looking forward to the rest. They are short enough for me (who reads 485 wpm) to be able to enjoy the great sex scenes, the interesting plots, which are completely different for each book, and still finish a few books before going to bed. There is excellent character development, some fun fights and love in the end. Who can ask for more?

This book answered many of the questions that have plagued scientists for many years. It is fast paced yet detailed enough so as not to lose the reader. For me, the historic sequence gave a human flavor to the science.

Most areas are quite clear but in some of them, by necessity, the reader has to accept things as they are, which is unavoidable when trying to condensate all the theories and discoveries for non-specialists in one book.
